The grandparents offered to have the kids for the weekend so we took the opportunity to try out a hotel that has been recommended to us on a couple of occasions. We weren't disappointed either. It was a bit more "country house hotel" than we're used to but so lovely and relaxing and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.

Onto the food which was amazing - hence the posting here about a memorable meal. They say that all the food comes from within a 10 mile radius of the hotel wherever possible, and being in North Norfolk that is entirely possible !
The first night we were there I had one of the most amazing meals ever. I had a fillet of beef served on a potato rosti with parsnip puree, savoy cabbage and baby carrots in a madeira jus topped with onion crisps. The flavours and textures were all perfect and as for the beef, I had mine medium rare and it just melted in the mouth. I can not say enough good things about this dish, it was totally incredible and all credit to the talented head chef Steven.
